Clean Link
New Jersey
Leading the clean energy transition
Con Edison Transmission introduces Clean Link New Jersey, which will link up to 2.4 gigawatts of clean renewable wind power to New Jersey’s electric system. Clean Link New Jersey uses an entirely underground power corridor design and an offshore network to help New Jersey to achieve its clean energy future without impacting local communities and the environment.
Key project benefits
Will have minimal impact to the shoreline and land right-of-way, minimal impact on plants and wildlife, and will preserve New Jersey’s prestigious viewscape. Placing Clean Link New Jersey entirely underground and through mostly existing utility or public rights of way gives our project a smaller footprint and increases reliability.
Can be right sized for the needs of New Jersey and expanded for future offshore wind solicitations. Our project’s use of high voltage direct current (HVDC) technology will be less intrusive and more cost effective for New Jersey customers than alternatives.
Will provide numerous benefits through partnerships with local communities and supply chains. Our project is expected to create anywhere from 1,500 to 3,500 new jobs in the State of New Jersey.
